The Building Engineer for Sustainability finds career opportunities in architectural and engineering practices; in construction, management, and maintenance companies; in companies that design and implement mechanical systems in buildings; in consultancy firms that offer services in energy, environment, safety, and quality control; in manufacturing industries of building products and systems; and in public administration and bodies involved in international cooperation.
More specifically, the career opportunities include the following:
- the functional, technological, structural, and MEP design and management of building systems and subsystems as well as the built environment;
- the digital management of conceptual and implementation processes of new or recovering building systems and subsystems;
- the analytical assessment of technological-environmental, energy, and safety performances;
- the management and planning of construction processes of works and facilities;
- the management, maintenance and rehabilitation of buildings, systems, facilities and services;
- the management of structural and service safety of buildings and their contexts;
- expert technical support to litigation in construction;
- the automation and management of construction processes and the organization of temporary construction sites;
- the assessment of environmental impacts.
Upon passing the Italian State Examination, the graduate may access the Italian Register of Engineers, Civil Environmental Branch Section A, with the professional title of Engineer, and practice as a freelance professional, by assuming the responsibilities required by laws and regulations.
